Twenty-five years ago today, my reign as coddled "only" child came to an end with the birth of my little sister. Let's just say that, being the resident one-and-only for over four years, I wasn't altogether pleased about having to share the love. As she grew, however, I learned that having a little sister was actually pretty cool. You had someone to play with, and, even better, someone to order around. I did my fair share of both. As a child, she was loads of fun to be around with a zany sense of humor. I will never forget seeing her running around, red, plastic tweezers in hand, pinching everyone on the butt and giggling, "Tweezer, tweezer, tweezer." She was headstrong; even then. For years Mom thought Amb been dutifully taking the vitamins she was being given every morning - until someone decided to clean under the couch cushions. Underneath lay a cache of once-dampened Flintstones vitamins. As a teen, she was still funny, but more cynical, and cool. She always had her hair done and the latest fashions; she was always more into that stuff than I - who lumbered around my teen years with dirty hair and over-sized t-shirts. Then she became a young woman, and I really can't begin to tell you how proud I am of her - and how blessed I feel to be able to call her my "sister". She's smart, warm-hearted, fun and funny. She's about to graduate college - the first of our small brood to do so; did I mention I'm proud? I wish you could meet her because to know her is to love her. So today, she celebrates her 25th birthday and I'd just like to wish her a great one, and to let her know how much I love her and cherish our relationship. Love always & all ways, Yo Big Sista
